Same issue here, also running windows 7. Yesterday everything was working normally, today fusion installed an update and we cannot generate toolpaths anymore. Even old files with working toolpaths fail if we try to re-generate.

While I can't say for sure that the OS is involved here, you should know that Windows 7 is no longer a supported operating system, and we advise you to upgrade to Windows 10+, which is supported.

Hi,
I am very sorry for the inconvenience, but I also have to point out that such an effect is just a matter of time on an unsupported operating system like Windows 7.

When you check the Fusion 360 system requirements you will see that Windows 8.1, 10, or 11 are supported system environments. -To keep Fusion 360 up to date with development technologies Autodesk has to cut the support for outdated Operating systems from time to time. -Please upgrade to a newer windows version.

System requirements for Autodesk Fusion 360

Hi Mikko,
honestly, I think you have to do it now. Even with removing and installing Fusion from an older installer, as soon as you go online for accessing your designs the update will be sent to you.

A transfer from Windows 7 to 10 can take something between 60 minutes to 2 hours. In very rare cases it takes longer, this depends on missing service packs and other missing fixes. A system that is well-serviced transfers fast to Windows 10.

I hope this helps,
Helge

If you are on Windows 7, your options are to either upgrade to Windows 10, or wait for us to get a fix out.

Do note; we announced our decision to no longer support Win7 almost 2 years ago. There will come a point somewhere in the future where a bug fix is likely not going to happen. Prepare yourself accordingly

Yeah, I know it is normal these days to break a customer's important work on a random basis and not give a jot. I think though, if you want to be a professional organisation, you need to have an option for customers to roll-back a breaking update. That way they can continue with whatever urgent business they have at hand and then consider their overall OS / machine / upgrade path strategy at their convenience - not yours. In most organisations it's a bit more complicated than 'individual user wants to change their OS version *right now*'. A lot of corporates have entire departments thoroughly testing their universe of apps against particular OS builds and then making a new 'approved OS build' decision every 6 or 12 months.

Alan

At the risk of sounding repetitive, our customers had two years to get ahead of this. This is not at all a case of us "not giving a jot". We announced that support for Win7 was going away (2 years ago), and as such, we also stopped testing internally on Win7, since, well, it's unsupported.

Please do know that we are working to investigate exactly why this problem is happening on Win7, and whether there might be a way to resolve it. But, as Seth has been pointing out. It's just a matter of time until something more pops up, in our or other software, when you're working with a no-longer-supported operating system.
