if your teams are spending time fixing this, may I make a suggestion?

if you make it shift+enter just gets the current value of the parameter and enter maintains the function/formula.

Sometimes we might want to put in the actual value with shift enter, but to resume the expected functionality just pressing enter should maintain parameter link.

Thanks for your time.

Hi,

Since this morning I started running into a very annoying issue. When I create a rectangle and select a parameter as length and width, the parameter turns into an absolute value. I tried doing tab, enter, etc. and it happens no matter what. However, when I edit that sketch, I'm able to pick the parameter and it keeps its value after done editing it.

I did see a notification when I opened Fusion this morning saying it was updated, so perhaps something broke in this update? Please see the https://screencast.autodesk.com/Embed/Timeline/603199dc-f5cf-4712-9a74-35f15bff3e4e for actual behavior. I reset to default settings, but that didn’t help either.

Thanks.

Another quirky bug, if you copy and paste the sketch, some of the parameters are being turned into absolute values! Is anyone else also having this or just me?

Thanks for the update and for reporting this. It's logged and we're looking at it. This only happens when consuming user parameters while doing "on the fly" dimensioning while drawing sketch objects.

I have not yet seen any impact to modeling commands that consume user parameters.

There is a workaround for the first issue, related to dimension on the fly, sketch dimensions:

Edit the dimension to add the parameter name after creation (with on the fly method)

Or use the regular sketch dimension command after creating the geometry. It doesn't have this issue.

We'll check on the copy/paste issue you mention as well. No worries there.

Thanks and sorry for any inconveniences this may cause while we sort it out.

This is happening without being on the fly.

1. Go to parameters

2. Create a new user parameter called TestingTester and set it to 200mm

3. Draw a line in a new sketch and type TestingTester so that it picks up the parameter and hit enter

Expected value: 200mm fx

Expected result: A line is drawn that has a function value that will dynamically change when the parameter TestingTester is changed in the parameters screen.

Actual value: 200mm

Actual result: A line is drawn and is set to the current value that TestingTester is set to. It will completely break the link to the parameter. If the parameter is changed, the value will still remain as the original value of TestingTester at the point of the line creation but will not recognise any reference to the original parameter.

Temp fix: Click the value of 200mm, change to TestingTester and the second time you try to keep the parameter in there it will work.

This is describing "on the fly" use of user parameters:

1. Go to parameters

2. Create a new user parameter called TestingTester and set it to 200mm

3. Draw a line in a new sketch and type TestingTester so that it picks up the parameter and hit enter

This is describing non-on-the-fly use of user parameters, which has no bug:

1. Go to parameters

2. Create a new user parameter called TestingTester and set it to 200mm

3. Draw a line

4. Dimension it and use TestingTester as the value of the dimension
