It isn't I want to make squillions of things, but I seem to be torn how to do things.

I am working on a project and it has a few "components". (Rather quaint that I am using that term)

I am tripping over myself now and then because things need to be "tweaked". The time line is l-o-n-g (for me) and confusing.

I was wondering if I could make the different components in separate ... *projects* and then turn them into components and import them to this bigger project.

Then if I have to change something with one of the items (components) I open that project: edit it there and then that propagates to the current job. Be it magically, or I have to delete the component and re-import it.

Thanks.

Hello,

first post and new to Fusion. I'm trying to open the video linked but it doesn't work. Seems video is out of server or files not compatible. Anyway, I'm not sure but I might have the same questions. Is there a way to edit a component separately that will update multiple design where its copy is used? Let's say I've design five different cars, each one have the same engin. If I modify the engine in one design or separately in a source design, would it update everywhere else? For now, I'm trying to save component in data panel several way but can't achieve this result. I'm looking on forum and youtube since yesterday but can't find a solution. If someone can link me to or explain, it's very welcome!

Thanks,

Thank you for your super quick response, but I didn't manage to understand how to use the screencast. I can only see the timeline. I have installed screencast on my mac but it is only to display mine screen Ig guess, not reading screencast record.

Thanks it works under Chrome! Also a good news to see it is possible 🙂 I'm doing the same thing I think. Maybe it is in the order of creating the design or exporting or saving component. I will try again

Found my way out with assembly instructions. I was exporting component and loading them but I needed to "insert in active design". Found it here: https://help.autodesk.com/view/fusion360/ENU/courses/AP-SOLIDWORKS-ASSEMBLY-MODELING
