Drawing detail-view does not show applied decals

I was trying to specify the size of a printed icon on a part.

My strategy was to make detail-views of each icon, add a sketch to the surface, and specify dimensions on the sketch.

However the detail views does not show the decal at all, even though the same rendering style as the base view is applied.

I've read on this post something similar, about appearance overwrites on faces don't render either; instead the physical material shows. Maybe that is related.

Can you care to elaborate why this is expected? As this post testifies, this behaviour is not intuitive to at least one user, and is limiting for reasons that are not obvious. 🙂

Thanks for sharing this. When the detail tool was built, this functionality was not part of the original specification.

I think it is something that we should look at adding to the drawings environment. I've added it to our Public roadmap:

bit.ly/2DRoadMapFusion under "New and improved Views".

Every customer request that we get, from meetings, emails, forum posts etc. gets collected and categorised in our feature request database. This information is used to prioritise the features that we build next. I've added your request to our database.
