Changes to one body not propogating to other instances in circular pattern

I'm trying to generate linked copies of a body in a circular pattern so that I can edit just ONE of them, and the changes will apply to all of them. However, this is not happening. If I change the first body, the other copied ones don't change.

Select body -> Circular Pattern -> OK -> Modify original body -> The change only applies to the original (copies don't change)

What am I doing wrong here? I suspect it's just a workflow issue on my part

Disregard. I just had to make my body into a component. Solved!

The Timeline only works in one direction.

You have to do the changes to the body before the circular pattern in the timeline.
