Section View Tool: I can't select vertices?

So in the below video you'll see me create 2 section views. For the first horizontal section view, I'm able to specify the distance from the selected face by selecting a vertex. However, in the second vertical section view, I'm not able to select a vertex.

Is this by design?

If so, what circumstance/s would make vertices unselectable while using the section view tool?

there are no conditions that I know of where vertices would be unselectable when placing the section plane in the analysis tool.. Can you share this model?

Attached below. Was originally a .Stp file before being uploaded into Fusion.

Not the first time I've experienced this. Happens ~50% of the time I'm using this tool and want to select a vertex. Not exaggerating.

Happened on Intel Macs as well as this M1 Max machine.

EDIT: The uploaded file contains a few components. This issue may pertain to all components, but I've only noticed it with the below two components:

I am running Fusion 360 on a Windows 10 I can verify that I cannot select any vertices when creating a Section Analysis plane in the horizontal direction, it functions fine in the vertical direction. I experience this ONLY on the supply model. I tried the same operation on numerous parametric models and imported STEP models and did not see the same issue.

Happening on a new model. Model was a .STP before being uploaded to Fusion.

Latest Fusion/MacOS. M1 Max chip.

EDIT: Wait that was me using the offset plane tool, not section view tool. Though I still shouldn't have any issues selecting those vertices when using the offset plane tool, correct?

@jeff_strater Is it expected behavior that I'm not able to select these points in a sketch? I can select 2 points to fillet, but not all 4:

To add fillets to the sketch, select the lines that make the corner not the points at the corners for a definite easy selection.

Hi, yes selecting the edges is sometimes easier.

Is there any reason why I can't select the points?

yes, it is expected. There are 3 lines that meet at the points where you cannot select the point, and must select the lines. Fillet only works on points where there are exactly 2 incoming lines. Construction lines are still valid lines, too.

Offset plane tool: Unable to select verts. Also when selecting the 45 degree face the offset plane jumps somewhere seemingly random. Are these behaviors by design? I should be able to select these verts to drive the offset plane's offset, no?:

Hi @jeff_strater. Did you see the above video? Is there any reason why I wasn't able to select those verts when using the offset plane tool?

Also is there any reason why I wouldn't be able to select these verts as well using the Move command to move that sketch?

File for above video attached. Save point is just prior to trying to use the move command and exiting out of it.

EDIT: I also can't extrude to that sketch by selecting either the vertices or any part of that sketch.

yes it is. You are using "snap" in that video, as near as I can tell. Snap has never worked for Move, Extrude, etc with sketch geometry. Snap is really a holdover from Fusion's early days, before an associative termination (using To Object in Extrude, for instance) was available. Snap is just a way to select some geometry to use to set the distance, and it was just never enhanced to support sketch geometry.

Please create new threads for new topics. The original topic here was about Section Analysis and model vertices. The other topics are unrelated.

1: If I understand you correctly, I shouldn't be able to move a body/component to geometry selected from a sketch? I've definitely been able to do this before lol.

2: Before a make a new topic, is it by design that I'm not able to move a plane to a point with the offset plane tool like in this video?:

3: Before making a new topic, is it by design that when moving a plane to a selected face (that's at an angle) the plane gets moved to a seemingly random place? This can be seen starting at second 15 in the above video.

Not using the "free move" or "translate" tools, as near as I can tell.

You can select sketch points in the "point to point" or "point to position" tools, however:

Regarding offset plane, that may actually be the same problem as the original, as it appears to be model-dependent. It works in general:
