Yes, I set the materials up as favorites and modified them.

So is there really no way to set up a new library in the cloud? Some of us work remotely, so we don't want anything that requires a local network address. The solution presented in the thread again would mean we have separate material libraries local to our machines (or shared on a network). We need to be able to share them with all users, including those working remotely.

Material Favorite and sharing

I set up some materials that I want to use as the favorites for all users (we will have over 14 or so).

I have 2 problems:

1. All the custom appearances that I set up Friday are now missing. How do I make them "stick"?

2. How do I share these favorites so they become the favorites of all our users?

My first thought was to make a new library folder, but I have been unable to create a new material library folder in the cloud, and I can't get customized materials to save to the libraries.

Any help is appreciated!

Please check out the solution on this thread:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-support/fusion-360-quot-favorite-materials-quot-file-location/m-p/10951397#M144335

To answer your questions:

1. All the custom appearances that I set up Friday are now missing. How do I make them "stick"?

Did you set these up as favorites?

2. The way to share these is detailed on the forum thread I pasted above.

New libraries are local files. If you work on a network, put the library on a shared directory and all users can load it when needed.

<LI-CODE lang="general">So is there really no way to set up a new library in the cloud?</LI-CODE>

That is correct.

The adsklib file would be manually shared to each user and updated manually.

Presumably all these users are on the same team hub, so you could use the team hub file storage to distribute the library and keep it up to date like a shared network drive.
