Often I'm unable to fully constrain a sketch. I have to try, try, and try again, often times having to scrap the sketch altogether and start over. No exaggeration: I spend the majority of my time using Fusion trying to work around issues like these.

Screencast: https://autode.sk/3H2pxRQ

This bug is critical and has been around for a long time. All available company resources should be put on this bug before doing anything else IMO. I cannot use the software because of this bug.

I can understand your frustration, but you are blowing this out of proportion. Many Fusion 360 users, myself included can create complex and fully parametric designs without using the offset tool even once.

@accountsEFWLY wrote:

I can understand that frustration as well. While I do think that attention is paid, I find the mechanisms provided for users to report bugs and investigate bug status inadequate and unprofessional.

I too can create parametric designs without using the offset tool. This specific situation I think warrants the use of offset however... it is a 28 segment (19 of which are arcs) closed, constrained shape. I'm modeling 2 pieces of fabric sandwiching 1 layer of foam. The outline of the foam (offset toward the inside) and the outline of the raw cut edge with seam allowances (offset to the outside) are obvious offsets of the finished profile. In a perfect world (or just a reasonable world) I would select the original profile and offset once to the inside, select the same original profile and offset once to the outside, and be done.

Drawing the shape 3 times for all three desired profiles seems absurd to me since there is 1 driving profile. How would you suggest doing this without using offset?

Rob
