Feature request. Change folder icons.

I find projects are not good for file management so use folders within a project to organise my customers and their projects. Trouble is when you have a folder with a few subfolders it can get hard to locate the folder you need. Changing the icons would help and as discussed several times over the years giving folders all the features projects have would make life a lot easier.

At the moment no option to edit the icon!

With the new Folder Level projects coming up soon, the icon of the Folder will have some meaning (yes, there will be a few types of icons instead of just one) and hence I don't think putting custom images would be helpful in that scenario. Still, I will let the user experience team know about this request.

Folder level projects sound like what I've wanted for a long time and just changing the icon for some will help.

Projects have an option for custom icons, are the folder level projects not going to get the same?

Folder Level Projects too will have the ability to have a custom icon (just like it is today).
But as of now (under development), it doesn't have the possibility to give custom icons to the Folder itself (your original ask). But, I have informed our experience design team of your feedback/wish.

Hi Abhinav, following up on this!

In complex projects, navigating a sea of identical folders is a major bottleneck. Visual cues like custom icons or even basic color-coding would save our team significant time every day. Is this feature on the 2026 roadmap? It’s a huge 'quality of life' request for my team and I.
