topic CutPasteBodies Error in Fusion Support Forum

When I open my model and start a new sketch Fusion reloads all the features in the model and an error occurs in one of the cutpastebodies features that was not there when I previously saved the model.

See the screencast below:

https://autode.sk/3LzkGds

I cannot edit this feature to reselect the bodies like the error message says and I have restarted Fusion several times. Does anyone know a fix for this?

Thanks,

Brandon

edit: I was able to find the cause of the error. It seems that one of the extrude features before the erroring CutPasteBody feature did not have the correct profiles selected. This is still confusing because the model was working fine yesterday.

Anyway, it might be a good idea to change the error message for these kinds of issues to something a little more user friendly instead of asking the user to edit the CutPasteBody feature, which can't be edited.

Hi,

I was able to fix this particular issue. It seems that extrudes 24 & 25 had the wrong profiles selected.

If you would still like to take a look, please feel free to. Here is the file with the error.

Thank you for sharing this model. First, I would like to commend your modeling practices. This is one of the cleanest designs I have ever seen!

Second, yes, this is definitely a bug. The model should never be in a state where adding something forces a recompute. I have seen a handful of other bugs like this, and I will add this as an example. Your diagnosis of the underlying problem is also super-helpful for us trying to figure out the root cause. We appreciate your willingness to share and do the detective work for us.

Hi,

I recommend combining the components into assemblies suitable for assembly and then either creating rectangular patterns or connecting these assemblies with rigid joints.

günther
