How to find the inverse of my mould? Two similar moulds to fit together like a puzzle!

Hello,

I have received some amazing help on here, so thought that I'd try my luck again! I am making a mould for this diffuser shape that you can see below (also file attached). I want to make another similar mould, that is the inverse to this current version. The idea being that when the two products are put together, they will fit perfectly into each other like a puzzle which will make for easy transport etc. I have been looking into using negative space etc - is this the best way to approach it?

Hi @g.bloomfield8328,

I see some problems with the design that you have shared.

Gaps & Overlap between the bodies
- Use separate components for each body and assemble using joints to avoid Gaps & Overlaps.
I have fixed the design by filling the gap
- You can try to recreate the design again using component and bodies
To Inverse the mold,
- First combine all bodies to make it one single body
- Create a Box
- Invoke combine, Select Target & tool body
- Cut
- Make sure to Check, Keep tool

Thankyou so much for your reply! I have managed to make an inverse mood from the negative space!

I am still having some problems sorting the overlaps/gaps though. Thanks for pointing that out, as I wasn't sure what was wrong with it but I thought something might be up! When I am zooming in to match up the lines, they will not snap in line with the surrounding shapes. Is there a way to do this? I have included a screen grab to show what I mean.

I was wondering also if you wouldn't mind including your file for me to look at? Could be helpful to see your settings and individual steps as the vid goes quite fast for me.

Here is how you can start creating components and join them to avoid gap and overlap.

Dataset Attached (I recommend to recreate again using Components, Copy-Paste, Join)
