How can i change this Detail?

Hey guys,

I’d like to change a small detail on this shape — specifically, the dent at the bottom part of the form. It should just continue in a regular rounded way. It seems so simple, but after several attempts, I can’t figure out the solution. When I try to balance out the dent at the bottom using another target body, it tends to intrude into the upper indentations see second screenshot). Can someone do a short screencast or using my fusion file above, so i can check how its done. Ive used two "U" shaped bodys and combine them together.

Are you willing to start over from scratch?

Do you have a picture of something similar from the real world that illustrates where you are going with this design?

Are you sure that you want no gap here?

Yeah there is supposed to be a gap, my model was just a trial.
How did you made hollow the body? If iam using the hollow tool, it gives me an error notification

You have accepted a solution that is all wrong.

As stated by @davebYYPCU It was just a guess to try to get an idea where you wanted to go with this.

Do you want to learn how to do this correctly?

In the "solution" that you accepted the sketches were not fully defined - the "solution" will fall apart with any edits.

Your sketches were not created using the Slot command - the most efficient technique.

I think you are reinforcing poor modeling techniques.

How much of a gap do you want?

Step 1. Sketch a 2-Point Rectangle with upper corner at the Origin and going down to the right.

I am going to make a video on the modeling process. I made a mistake on my initial attempt that I need to correct so that the model will edit without errors.

It will probably be tomorrow before I can post the video.

May i ask why you would never mirror in a sketch?

Rarely, not never.

In my experience sketch mirror seems to be more computationally expensive and less robust.

Frankly, I got lazy - if this were my work I would have duplicated the rectangle and fillets on the other side rather than mirror.

Bottom line intent of the video though - always fully define your sketches.

Still curious where you are going with this as I suspect I might model differently if I knew the ultimate Design Intent.
