@michaeltates sorry for getting back to you late.

Have you tried Rearrange your displays to recover the primary and secondary respectively?

For the display doesn't recognize Radeon rx6550m, but showing Microsoft basic driver, it still looks like the driver hasn't been installed properly or some settings in the system/BIOS need to be adjusted. At this point, it is more like a system & hardware issue, I would suggest you contact HP for more support.

Please feel free to let us know if there're other issues with Fusion.

Thanks for your support as always!

For christmas I got a new laptop. It is a Hp Victus 15-fb2063. This laptop is win 11. It also has dual gpu. It has AMD integrated graphics and AMD RX 6550M. I installed fusion and everything went fine. Only problem I have is that when I open a design the model does not show up. If I switch fusion to directx 9 everything works fine. When I choose directx 9 though it says that soon that won't be supported. So I need to sort this issue out. I have googled for issues. I have installed the latest drivers.

Device name victus
Processor AMD Ryzen 5 7535HS with Radeon Graphics 3.30 GHz
Installed RAM 8.00 GB (7.21 GB usable)

As far as I know I might be able to disable one of them in the device manager. I don't know what other issues that would cause. I've been all through the AMD driver settings and haven't found where I have much control over which gpu is used.

Thank you, @michaeltates !

You could disable the GPU from the Device manager, but I think it is clear to us now, the problem is with the independent graphics device, as Fusion's graphics diagnostics shows the GPU being used is AMD Radeon RX 6550M.

We will investigate how to reproduce with identical GPUs internally and share with you later if we have more progress.

Before the issue being addressed for DirectX11, please use DirectX9 temporarily as a workaround.

Hi Michael,

I got the latest suggest from AMD that it would be good that you can completely un-install the current driver and install the new one from the below link. There is likely an issue with the install driver over the top of an “OEM” driver hence uninstalling the driver first before installing the one suggested.

https://drivers.amd.com/drivers/whql-amd-software-adrenalin-edition-24.9.1-win10-win11-sep-rdna.exe

Hi Lisa,

I uninstalled the driver and installed the suggested driver. Nothing has changed. I did not use the amd cleanup utility to remove the old driver. I just went into apps and chose to remove amd software. With this being windows 11 there is an issue with logging in to safe mode with a pin. Is there any reason to believe that if a factory reset the laptop and reinstalled fusion that I would get a different result.

Thanks, Michael

Thank you for retry the new driver in your side, @michaeltates!

Are you uninstalling the driver from Control Panel? I think there should not be a problem when uninstalling the driver from control panel, looks like there might be some corruption in the system & driver. It might be helpful to reset, I would suggest you raising up this issue into the support team of the laptop and seeking their professional help.

I will also share your testing with AMD and see if they can provide some extra support.

Regards,

Hi Lisa,

I will try and factory reset the system and reinstall. Then we can see if that resolves the issue. It will likely be this weekend before I have a chance to try this. If this doesn't resolve the issue, I'll get in touch with hp support and see what they say.

Thanks,

Michael

Hi, Lisa

I did a fresh install of windows and amd drivers, fusion. Nothing changed. I did figure out something that I think could be very helpful. If I drag the fusion window over to the external monitor fusion works fine with direct x 11. This monitor plugs into the hdmi port and is on older monitor nothing special. The issue is on the laptop screen the computer is using the integrated graphics. On the other monitor its using the dedicated graphics. I don't see anywhere that I can force it to use one over the other. See attached screen shots.

Thanks,

Michael

Hi Michael,

Thank you so much for your time to refresh windows!

You really made a great finding that this is related with the integrated graphics card being recognized by the monitor.

It seems that Fusion is using the integrated card when the problem happens, but the graphics diagnostics still reports the AMD card, which doesn't sound correctly. We will find some device internally for double check.

And in your side, to avoid the issue, the system needs to be always run with the discrete graphics card, and you can disable the integrated one through Windows Device Manager -> Display Adapters. Right click on the listed integrated display and select DISABLE. Do not select uninstall as this may cause further problems.

Please let me know whether it helps by disabling the integrated card.

Thank you for your support as always!

Regards,
