If there is no recovery file, there is nothing to recover. It is recommended to use the save button periodically to capture the value in your progress as you work.

Hi @Phil,

this is very annoying!
Especially for such expensive software.
Even free software—take Notepad++ for example—handles automatic backup much better.
Honestly, having no backup strategy in 2025 is absolutely inappropriate in my opinion.

Best regards,
Thorsten

@Thorsten_W Since you are a paying customer, I would recommend logging a support ticket for this.

But you are saying something that isn't exactly true. There is a backup strategy in Fusion. Autorecovery files are saved periodically while you work. Also, there is a save button, so part of the strategy involves you. Fusion is not advertised to have any kind of incremental save feature like other, far less complex software that is creating far less complex (and small) data files such as Notepad. I'm sure you can see the difference between incrementally saving keystrokes and incrementally saving CAD files that might be 100mb.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience, please log a support ticket. The more cases we get from customers the more we can measure how customers want Fusion to perform.
