Good Morning John,

My Exploded and Named Views are appearing in my Drawing. I feel stupid telling you what was wrong. The drawing views I was trying to create are hidden behind the model in Home View. Once I shifted to a view to see the part, I could see my Exploded & Named Views. The funny thing is that I tried different views in the drawing early on but my Exploded & Named Views did not appear in the drawing. I don't know why the views didn't show up then, maybe because of the level of subassembly I had active in the design. I quit rotating the drawing to different angles after that because I assumed the views were not appearing because of the Personal Use License. Well, we all know what happens when you assume.

My only problem now is that the Exploded and Named Views don't appear in the drawing at the same level of zoom I have set in the Animation and Named View. Instead, the drawing is zoomed out to the full extent of the model. I will play with that to see how to achieve the desired zoom level.

Anyway, I apologize for my stupidity and wasting your time but, it's good to know that my assumptions were incorrect.

Thank you so much for setting me straight, John.

Lenny

Hello,

I hold a free Hobbyist Fusion 360 License and have been trying to create an Exploded View in a Drawing. I have created the Animation and selected the Storyboard for the Drawing View but only a standard default view appears in the Drawing. The same thing happens if I try to create a Drawing View from a Named View created in the Design Workspace. Are free users limited to only default views for drawings?

Thanks

Lenny

You have access to both types of 2D Drawing types you mentioned. In the Screencast I show you the creation of both types using a Fusion 360 Personal license.

Thanks for the response, John.

I have performed the steps for the Exploded View exactly as you have shown but I only see the default home view when it is placed in the drawing canvas. The only thing you showed different for the Named View is that you right-clicked the top level component in the browser to get to the Drawing Workspace, I always change to the Drawing Workspace from the Workspace toolbar button. I don't know if that makes a difference but I'll give your method a try tomorrow & let you know.
