Body wont split using Patch surface as splitting tool

Hello,

I'm trying to split this body (cowelled section) with a stitched surface (desired imprint) It doesn't seem to be able to compute saying there's "no intersection between targets and splitting splitting tool"

I had a similar problem with a loft surface but got round it by extending the loft beyond the edges of the body however the finished imprint wasn't desirable. Playing around the stitched surface gave a much nicer surface. I'd like to use the stitched surface to create the nicer imprint, but cant figure out the issue. I've tried looking for the answer on the forums but I'm not sure quite how to relate what I'm reading into what I'm doing!

I eventually figured it out. There was a issue in one of the sketches so we went back and amended them.

Phew it was driving me mad!

I took a look at this model and the split issue may be related to a end point in a sketch. Not sure of it is true or not. Refer to the attached picture and video.
