I don't understand @jhackney1972 work around. The file is only different in that the parameters are favorited. The lines that are dimensioned with the equation are still unfixed, and free to move if dragged.

I was able to "fix" the line dimensioned with the equation parameter and that seems to sort of solve the problem, in this instance, and is not a very trustworthy solution.

When trying to dimension something a distance from something else, without a line involved, the dimension will show the dimension defined by the parameter, but will not move the objects to whatever the specified distance is. So if I were to "fix" the object, it would "fix" at whatever position it was in.

I'm trying to create a parameter with a formula that references a driven dimension.

The math works in the parameters menu. But when used as a dimension, it won't compute the parameter, the distance doesn't reflect the math, and the dimension not fixed.

I've also tried to use the floor function and a driven dimension on the fly and it won't calculate the result and errors out.

And in another model I was able to create the parameter but it won't let me apply it as a dimension.

This feels like a bug, is there a work around? I haven't been able to find anything in the forum on this.

Make both parameters Favorites and assign them as needed. They will work just fine. Model is attached.

That's a great workaround, @jhackney1972 . I never would have thought of even trying that. Nice.

However, I think this is still a bug. I don't think it is the driven dimension, I think it is "floor()". If I take floor() out, it seems to work OK. I'll create a bug for this, and in the meantime, you have John's workaround.

[edit] I created bug FUS-105666 for this issue. Thanks for reporting it.

Nor do I... I agree, it does not make any sense, but it does work. That's why I created a bug for it.

The work around does not work for me. The line dimensioned with the equation/parameter is still unconstrained and free to move, even after making the parameter a favorite.
