Feature Idea - Enhancing Parameters

I have a feature suggestion:

Parameters are a really strong feature of fusion360 and as a software engineer and now 3d designer I use them all the time. However, I think they could be better supported and used. Here’s my suggestions, I hope you’ll take them on board:

Provide a parameter panel that can be visible all the time showing a searchable list of parameters and allow the user to click to:
1. Enter one in a dimension box
2. Enter and use a new one
3. Enter one for later use
4. Select an explicit dimension or formula in a drawing/sketch and convert it to a parameter.
Allow parameter values to be used in text fields. (i.e. so a dimension or derived value can be embossed on a model)
Show suggested parameters that match either explicit dimensions or formula that already exist.
When entering a parameter in a dimension box allow a new undefined name to be entered and converted to a parameter in the panel or additional popup. (i.e., if I start typing ‘=’ in a dimension box and follow it with an undefined text string ‘=modelWidth’ on hitting enter I should be presented with a popup to complete the parameter naming.
If a dimension is visible on a sketch and it is derived from a parameter, then either the parameter name should be visible, or a symbol decoration shown to indicate that it is a parameter. Then, when the mouse hovers over it, the parameter name should be shown. Clicking it will select it in the parameter panel if shown.

Ok that’s my thoughts. The parameter panel would be a major leap forward if it were to be added, giving constant visibility and access rather than having to consciously open the parameter menu and then close it before being able to proceed. It will lead users to great use just by being visible.

Thanks for the request. Those are some suggestions we've seen before and some new ones. I've sent this feedback to the development teams that work on parameters.

For your item #5, I think most of that is already available.

The dimension is decorated with the parameter symbol "fx"
Hovering over it gives the tool tip that shows the parameter number and value/name
Selection of individual sketch dimensions is currently not enabled while the parametric panel is visible. This would be an improvement that comes with your suggestion #1.
