I removed all of the patches including the small one on the fillet curve and replaced them with just one. No magic to it but as I said, that corner is a mess. The best method is to try to limit the number of patches or to patch, then stitch and patch so more. Screencast is what I did.

Hi All,

I have recently ran into an issue whilst using the surface workspace on a surface body. I have been trying to create a closed surface body to form a solid body using the patch tool to close up holes / create surfaces to be stitched to the rest of the body. However, after successfully using the patch tool to close the hole in the surface, all of the edges bar one will stitch to the rest of the body, leaving it as a surface body and not as a solid body.

This issue remains regardless of the tolerance I use; Fusion identifies the free edge and states it has a gap of < 0.05 mm, but even setting the tolerance of the stitch operation up to > 1 mm (even up to the maximum of 10 mm) does not stitch this free edge. Research suggests the edges may not be aligned which is preventing the stitch from working successfully, but I cannot see how this is the issue when the patch operation is used successfully to create the surface body I am trying to stitch.

Please see the attached screenshot below of the issue.

Post-patch and pre-first stitch attempt:

Not all edges stitch, so when trying to stitch again this shows:

Thank you!

Please attach your model exhibiting this issue. If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

That corner area is not very pretty and I do not know what you expected from it but here is a stitched solid from your surfaces. Model is attached.

Hi John,

Thank you for resolving it! The model is only a rough volume anyway. Would you mind expanding on what the issue was?
