With the integrated video card disabled I was able to keep fusion360 running long enough to complete a project but when I went to run Cura to slice my model I found that it would not run. I had to re-enable the other graphics adapter to run Cura. However, after some time, I began to have the BSOD even after having the other graphics card disabled. I lost track of when I had the card disabled and when I had fusion open.

I have now disabled the other card instead (only using the integrated graphics) and it appears that the integrated card works with both Fusion and Cura (no crashes so far.)

I have a feeling the problem is a conflict with the NVida driver. Too soon to tell but I will have to run my system this way and see if the issue is resolved.

DirectX11 causes Fusion360 to not recover from its loading screen. The main window continues showing the "AutoDesk Fusion" branding while not allowing me to display any current projects.
I can fix this by switching to DirectX9 or OpenGL but both of these present a warning that they will not be supported any longer and each have their own graphical issues that are very frustrating.

This is my PC setup:

Framework Laptop 16

AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS

AMD Radeon RX 7700S

32GB DDR5 Memory

More than enough storage space on my SSD

Windows 11 Pro

The error looks like this:

It does not change no matter what I do. The rest of the program is responsive. It was working fine earlier this year. This problem began happening in April.

I already tried updating my graphics drivers, they were already up to date. I already tried updating Windows, it was already up to date. I tried reinstalling Fusion360, it did not fix anything. I tried rebooting my computer, it did not fix anything. I played with lots of Fusion360's settings, only Graphics driver makes a difference, but the only ones that work are both outdated and full of their own graphical glitches.

I'm writing this post as a last ditch effort before I consider this program a loss and switch to FreeCAD.

Any help is appreciated. I've tried all of the obvious things already.

I have the same issue on my HP Spectre X360 I7. It has worked fine for years running DirectX 9 but it will not work with DirectX 11. I have tried both graphics cards on the laptop and neither appear to work with DirectX 11. The latest update has removed the support for DirectX 9 so I am no longer able to use Fusion360 on my machine. Currently looking for a solution or a replacement. I have tried FreeCad and it is much better than it was, but I am so used to F360 that I really would rather not have to relearn a bunch of basics for a hobby tool.

EDIT:

I just went into my device settings and disabled the integrated graphics card. I restarted Fusion360 and it now appears to be working. I have only had it running for a few minutes so I'll have to see if that actually worked or if its just waiting for me to do a bunch of work before it decides to crash and I loose everything.

Had the exact same issue described here — Fusion would launch, but the main modeling window and timeline stayed completely blank. Menus showed up, but everything else was missing

However these steps worked for me:

1. Disable integrated graphics (Intel GPU)
(Device Manager - Display adapters - Right-click the Intel GPU → choose “Disable)

2. In Fusion set graphics driver to directx11

3. Install Microsoft’s OpenGL Compatibility Pack
(Open Microsoft Store - Search for “OpenCL and OpenGL Compatibility Pack”)

I can now use Fusion an Cura / Orca with my NVIDIA GPU

I'll have to give that a try. My NVIDA GPU is better than the integrated graphics but so far Fusion has been running fine as long as I have it set to only use the integrated card. I originally disabled my NVIDA card but found that I needed it for other programs so I solved the problem by specifying that Fusion only use the integrated card and was then able to enable my NVIDA card for other programs to use.
