position of sub components of linked design not updated/linked

I have a design with subcomponents. I have captured positions & saved it. When I insert this into another design (linked) everything looks like in the original liked design. However if I now change the positions of subcomponents of the linked design, capture, save + update, these changes are not reflected. Vice versa if I edit in place and save, the inserted design doesn't change. It seems like the parent design has different origins for all the subcomponents from the linked design.

The screenshot ChildDesign.png shows Design "PeltierSocket_v2" with a subcomponent "Peltier_Assy4W_10_wide".

The Screenshot ParentDesign has 2 instances of PeltierSocket_v2, all updated and Positions captured. However the subcomponents are at different positions and not were they are in the ChildDesign. Positions are not hierarchically linked.

I want subcomponents to be identical. If I change the position in one it needs to change in the other. If I change it in the ChildDesign, I want them to move in the ParentDesign as well. If I do "Edit In Place" in the ParentDesign, I want the position to be updated in the ChildDesign.

Its an issue regarding linked designs ( so I right click "insert into current design" and then it has the little chain symbol, showing it is linked). I don't know how to share this other than sharing the whole project. But the behavior is easily reproducible, it seems to be standard behavior, I just don't know how to disable it. If you insert a component containing a subcomponent, change the location of the subcomponent and then update, the change is not reflected in the linked design.

Another good example showing this unexpected behavior is using the alignment tool. It will move only the bodies of the component, but not the subcomponents, unless I click on "rigid group". The sub components' origins are independent in the context of the new design, which is unexpected as it obviously changes the linked design if everything is at a different location. The only way to change sub components locations should be the "edit in place" command.

"The sub components' origins are independent in the context of the new design, which is unexpected as it obviously changes the linked design if everything is at a different location.

This is not correct in Fusion. Fusion supports "flexible sub-assemblies". The position of child components of a sub-assembly is owned and driven by the top-level assembly. This allows multiple instances of a sub-assemblies to be in different positions. Imagine a sub-assembly which is a door + a door frame. You have a room with 3 doors. You want to be able to open each door independently from the others. This is a flexible sub-assembly. If you want a rigid sub-assembly, then you should edit the sub-assembly, and, using Joints, rigidly constrain all the components in that sub-assembly.
