I am trying to make a design for a custom couch I want to build. I need to see the dimensions of the seating area after coushins and everything to make sure there is enough space to sit. I sketched out the portion but when I right click the sketch and select show dimensions nothing shows up. If I go back I can hide dimensions even though they are not showing. I tried creating a new plan in the area I wanted and repeating the process but still nothing shows up.

Any help would be great.

We really need to your your model. If my video, does not help you see your dimensions, please attach your model to a reply post. If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

<video-js data-video-id="6312214335112" data-account="6057940548001" data-player="default" data-embed="default" class="vjs-fluid" controls="" data-application-id="" style="width: 100%; height: 100%;"></video-js>
(view in My Videos)

Well, the reason you are not seeing any dimensions, at least in the Sitting Area sketch is because you did not place any sketch dimensions in it. You have to add dimensions, either during the sketch creation, or after using the sketch dimension command.

You can add them, as you sketch, or use the Dimension command after you sketch the entities but before you leave the sketch. You also can edit the sketch later on to change or add dimensions. The video will show this. One thing you need to remember, when sketching, is to make sure they are fully constrained. This involves adding sketch constrains, either automatically by the application as you sketch, or manually from the sketch Constraint toolbar. This keeps your sketch from moving accidentally during design and also improves application performance.
