topic Exporting DXF files in Fusion Support Forum

Hi,

I am exporting drawing files from Fusion as .dxf & dwg, the files do not open in the recipients software or rather they open but there is no lines defining the parts, so no parts visible. The title block, dimensions, hatching and frame edge are visible but no part. I have tried to replicate this with the web version of Autodesk dwg true viewer and I got the same result, no part just dimensions etc.

I opened the file in a different cad system and the file opened all details OK?

What is the issue and how can I resolve this as I need to be able to export .dxf & .dwg and be confident that they are going to be readable without having to run multiple checks before they go out.

Your help ould be very gratfully recieved. Thanks in advance.

Best

Mark

The DXF files from the drawings workspace are stored in drawing space and AutoCAD is about the only program that can read them successfully. Can you use DWG instead and use the simplified option? These should open fine in any program.

Your other option is to export a sketch from the design workspace using Save As DXF and maybe send a PDF as well from the drawings workspace with dimensions and specs.
