Require help creating gussets/ribs on plastic bosses

Hi,

I am designing a plastic enclosure for electronics and cannot figure out how to add gussets to the bosses.

The main issue is creating a plane to make the sketch that aligns with the circular bosses.

I have the plastics design extension but cannot see anything in there either.

Attached is a quick model showing taper bosses and ribs. If you need something different or need to know how to do this, please ask.

I see you created an axis and I can replicate it but how do you add the plane? Can you somehow create a plane on that axis.

Actually, When I attempted creating ribs in my own model, I found I have an issue.

I added Axis to cyclinder and then Plane at angle

Then I create a sketch on the plane and drew a line between the base and cylinder (I tried to project cylinder but only the top projected and not side of the cyclinder so I drew from base of box to top of cylinder)

When I try to add the rib, the rib gets connected to other end of box instead of the cylinder wall.

Please attach your model so I can do a video on it. Also tell me how many gussets you want and the angle of them. If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

Model attached. This is a model to play with the bosses and ribs. The number of ribs in future designs will vary but if I can understand how to create them, this will be appreciated.

You probably do not know that a Rib only requires a single line and that one of the options is "To Next". This is probably what is giving you issues. I did two of them for you and the second one illustrates this setting. In the first one you will notice I have to keep it a little bit off the top of the boss or it will shoot over to the inside wall. As I pointed out at the end of the video I do not have the Extension to add draft to the rib, I hope you do. Model is attached.

Thanks John. I am new to Fusion and found using the section analysis tool and slice excellent (I had been trying to manipulate the view to see the boss inside the box). Also, the projection tool selection helped. I used the RIB under plastic and found it will complete the line automatically to the correct surface instead of needingf to use "next" command. Much appreciated as I was stuck on this one and could not figure it out after viewing several online videos that showed the rib command but not how to select the geometry properly.
