Can you clarify what you mean because what my (little) head is telling me you can adjust the view while editing a sketch. This can be done while using the orbit tool to change angle or view point, (The shortcut version is a bit harder to get specific angle) but it is definetely possible, unless I've misunderstood, because you can still draw even when your not on an orthographic view, so please correct me if I'm wrong, to say, it is possible

Sleepy Regards

Ricky🤣

Is their a way to get interactive views in a drawing? I would like to be able to rotate a model inside the current drawing view so that I can position it in the best possible way. As far as I can see, this is currently impossible and the only "work-around" (which isn't really) is to create a new named view, update and save the model and then go to the drawing and update it their and then select the new view. The problem is this requires many attempts to adjust the named view in the Design in order to get the view I need in the drawing. In other software (e.g. SolidWorks), this is effortless - I can just select the model in the drawing view and rotate it to whatever angle I need. Why is this not available in Fusion?

The original poster is speaking about creating a special view directly inside a "2D Drawing". Posters on the Forum often use "Drawing" to refer to a "Model" so confusion arises when someone is talking about a true 2D Drawing. What the original poster is asking for is not available without going through the process they have already mentioned of going back to the Model, creating a new Named View, saving and then using it in the 2D Drawing create the view they desire.

Yes, John. You are correct. Currently it is very difficult to get the view I want inside a 2D drawing. I really hope this is something that could be added in the near future, along with perspective views.

Prospective Views are already here. You cannot add dimensions to them however.

Oh, that's great! I did not see that before (kind of a weird place to put that option!) Thanks for letting me know, though it looks like you have to place the view after that is turned on. Would be great to see that implemented in such a way that you could just click on a pre-existing view to change it to perspective (as it is done in most other software).

You can create a 2D Drawing and cancel the view it creates originally. Then you can place your first view as a Prospective View, no big deal.

Yes, I know that. The issue is I already have all my view created. It would be great if I could just click inside one of them and make it a perspective, rather than having to delete one and recreate it with the perspective enabled. But the biggest issue with these perspective views is the inability to add dimensions to them. Hopefully they can add that in the near future. IMHO, there is a lot of work that needs to be done in order for Fusion to level up to the standards of other CAD programs in regards to creating 2D drawings. Really hoping the developers are working on this aspect of the program. 🙂
