Patterning Issue?

It's probably me, been a long day.

Could someone please explain to me what's happening here?

I have the formulas set in my parameter tables, everything seems to check out.

I was playing around with trying different patterning approaches, so I began with a sketch pattern.

That worked as expected, but when I went to repeat the same in Solid body using a pattern feature, it didn't seem to like that?

Anyway, it's probably something stupid simple I'm overlooking.

Thanks 🙂

Edit: Secondary thought

Would it make sense to integrate an extrude to pattern in the extrude command?

I could see it being a useful feature.

Please attach your model. If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

The error in your parameters is because you are using a Reference Dimension in the calculation of the XSPC and YSPC parameters. Reference dimensions cannot be used outside the sketch they are created in.

Here's something I'm not entirely clear on.

Those parameters were created within the prameter table and not a sketch.

I import/create parameters all the time that I use globally.

How is this different?

Something doesn't jive in my head.

In the screen captures below, you will see the two sketch reference dimensions circled and also these being used in your parameter table. Notice they are dark green telling you that they are reference dimensions. As mentioned before, reference dimensions cannot be used outside the sketch they are a part of. The last screen capture shows the two sketch parameters in the parameter table where you can see they are grayed out, telling you that there are reference dimensions.

OK,

So now that I've only been told I'm doing it wrong.

Any answers on how I could do it right?

Other than sketching out my pattern and then having to go back and select 99 holes individually to extrude them?

I could use feature pattern extrude, but then I can't use my patterning formulas, is there another way to obtain the profile lengths of the rectangular profile in my sketch without referencing driven dimensions?

There has to be an easier way?
