Hi and thanks for sharing.

For generative design outcomes we always try to create an editable outcome however there are some geometries which are impossible to re-create in t-splines and the generation of the form will fail. For those outcomes, rather than fail to give you any outcome at all, we simply re-create the form with no editable t-spline. This is relatively rare as the vast majority of outcomes are able to successfully re-create the t-spline, but it does happen from time to time.

If the generation of the t-spline has been successful you should see a history bar like the one below. This will allow you to edit the form in the t-spline environment by right clicking on the purple body in the history bar.

If you don't get that history bar that means the generation of the t-spine has failed for some reason. This should be nothing to do with the fact that the original model is from Inventor, I've successfully worked with geometry from inventor in generative design multiple times without having any of these issues.

Usually the problem will be a specific region of the generative outcome which has a form with complexity that the t-splines fail to capture. This can sometimes be solved by adjusting your setup.

If you're able to share more details about your model I may be able to make some suggestions that may help you get an editable outcome.

Cannot get anywhere with my Fusion 360 Gen. Des. form. The original model was created in Inventor and now all the tips and videos that I've gone through offer me no help.

I cannot select any feature, shape, face or what so ever and modify it!

What is wrong or is it just that Inventor files cannot be modified after they've been run with Generative Design??

Thanks again guys for quick reply !

I dont know what has gone wrong but I cannot modify generated design, or find it in my cache, though, its saved today only minutes ago. Below two examples, both created with generative design. Cannot tick O-Snap or Soft Mod. either.

Opening any of the few Fusion 360 files on my hard drive is impossible also...

I have opened new and thus empty assy file on Inventor but cannot place any design on it.

Getting anxious about this... My work is already late from the AM-course schedule, that I am attending, as part of M.Sc studies. Would hate to loose this opportunity, as this is part of our latest invention, that we are working on with my employer.

I see if I could post some geometry, loads, obstacles etc. tomorrow, so you could check it. It is not too complicated part but somehow I cannot set it right.
