Hi,

I've just stumbled into a problem. I've done a small gearbox and now want to animate it properly. After some weeks of success and incremental andvances, I'm now stuck in a dysfunctional situation as follows.

a) I open a new construction and save it.

b) i link in two shafts (which basically are cylinders of defined length)

c) I add two spur gears, modul 1, 16 and 9 teeth.

d) I link one gear to the first shaft, the other so the second. Using both rotational joints with no restrictions

e) I select both joints (first the 16 teeth, then the 9 teeth) and add a motion link.

=> both wheels start to turn. unaligned as expected

f) I enter the gear ratio as -16/9*360deg for the second (9 teeth) wheel

=> the input wheel stops it's rotation while the dependent gear keeps spinning

I've attached my little test project. No clue what has happened. About 5 days ago my whole gearbox was working properly.

Any suggestions what I did wrong?

Cheers

Ralf
