Okay. Thanks for that. I have tried these and they don't work. Is it possible to strip away code and associations that are no longer being used? I tend to complicate a drawing to the point they have a nervous breakdown. And then I add the details. So to be honest here, I am my own worst enemy.

Trying to combine two bodies without success. F360 doesn't give me any error but it also doesn't do the combination. Tried to attach the file but it is too large. It has a lot of detail in it

Hi @chuck2CVHC

There are a few things that could be causing the issue you're experiencing with combining bodies in Autodesk Fusion 360. Here are a few things to check:

Make sure that the bodies you're trying to combine are not part of a larger assembly or design. If they are, you will need to edit the assembly or design to make the changes.

Make sure that the bodies you're trying to combine are not in different coordinate systems. If they are, you will need to align them before you can combine them.

If you still cannot combine the bodies, try to use the 'Join' command instead of the 'Combine' command, which allows to join multiple bodies into a single body.

If none of the above works, you can try to create a new document and import the bodies you want to combine into it and then try to combine them.

I am sending you a picture of the model I created using Fusion 360 and a couple of cheap 3D printers.

Not only can I not combine the bodies, I can't move the bodies either. The f3d file is 187MB which seems big for two parts, left and right clamshell making the payload fairing on a Falcon rocket. The halves do have a lot of detail but how do I get around that? The models I make need detail.

This is not the first time I have run into this issue. I tie Fusion into knots and then complain that the program is buggy. My projects are getting more complicated so I probably need a refresher course on project management. But forcing me to save my files in the cloud also burns my time and frustrates me.

1. Are there any unresolved (and apparently ignored) issues highlighted in your Timeline?

2. Are you using (Optimized) Feature Patterns rather than sketch patterns.

You can save (Export) projects to local drive.

I would not expect file for this geometry to be so large except for issues #1 & 2.

Can you zip and upload your project to your favorite drop box (I prefer One Drive) and provide link to download in your next Reply?

Edit: Delete Canvas images once they are no longer needed for reference.

It's the history. I have been looking at it and it goes back to the start of the project, not just for these two parts. I must not be creating the individual parts correctly. Is there a way to strip off the unnecessary history markers within a file? And yes, there are many unresolved issues in this history.
