topic Set new origin point in Fusion Support Forum

Hi,

as you can see in this screenshot I got 3 different origin points for some of my objects which I imported. Moving objects is connected to the origin point therefore I cannot move them properly into the right position. My question is simply how can I set the origin point to new values so it matches my project?

It probably would be best if the Forum users had your model so the operation will make more sense to you. Please attach it. If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

Hi,

attached my project to my post. I just realized that other imported objects have the same problem so I have more like 5 different origin points but I didn't realized it until now.

You have a real job ahead of you. In the video I did one component under an assembly of one component so it is easy. You have assemblies, in this model, composed of a number of components where each one needs its origin adjusted. I do not know where this model came from but it is a mess. I would either live with it or go back and get another model. By the way, if you use this one make sure you turn on Capture Design History.

Okay, thanks for the explanation how to adjust it. I found a way to move my objects properly so that I can at least align them in the way I need it. Going through every single object and fix its origin point is indeed a major task and not worth the time.
