the reason behind the CTRL key interaction is: Some commands, such as Fillet, consume their inputs. When you hold down CTRL, a feature preview is rolled back, which brings back the original geometry, so it can be un-selected, or new inputs selected. For consistency, this pattern is applied to all commands.

Hi Autodesk experts.

I'm trying to get better at using fusion as some of my customers are using it. So I've been doing some designing in fusion rather than Solidworks for a change lately and something that's really bugging me is that often I will create a feature (in the solid body design workspace) such as a Chamfer or Rectangular pattern or even a simple hole feature and I'll go select a bunch of edges or faces or sketch geometry and it works. But then I need to go back in and change my geometry selection as the design evolves. I click edit feature and the feature properties box opens but it will never let me actually make changes. I find have to delete, then re-create, a whole new feature from scratch with my new geometry selections (if I wanted to remove some of the selected geometry).

If I want to add just few bits of extra geometry to the feature I can't just go in and select a couple more edges or faces either. I'm left with the same option as above or creating a whole new feature just for the extra few bits of geometry that I want to add.

This leads to a rather long and confusing design history tree and a whole lot of wasted time to get there.

I'm hoping I'm just being daft and overlooking some simple trick that someone could please point out to me.

Thanks team!!

Dan

You need to attach a video of your process and let all on the Forum see your process. Along with the video, attach the model you are creating the video with. If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

Depends on the Feature,

Edit Feature > hold Cntrl key, new selections are allowed.

Clicking on a selected article will toggle it as selected or not.

Might help.....

Thanks Dave it was the sneaky control key holding me back! I thought that if the "selections" button was highlighted in the feature properties box then I was good to go with re-selecting geometry, but no, you must hold control down also!
