How to get a more complex sketch to turn black.

Hi there

While I understand the basic concept of constraining a sketch so that it turns black I have a really hard time doing this on more complex sketches. Is there a tool or plugin that highlights where dimensions etc need to be placed in order for the sketch to be come constrained? I have attached a screen shot of the sort of thing I'm talking about. I created one side and then mirrored it along the CL. I have tried several ways to draw this sketch without success and the constraining part seems to take me hours.

1. Please attach the model in .f3d format

2. Fillets do not belong in a sketch if they can be applied using solid modeling features.

3. Mirroring an entire sketch is also not recommended.

If you draw tis with sharp corners and follow he above rules, then the sketch is much simpler. That makes it faster to sketch and much faster to debug.

I've highlighted the corners that need dimensioning to fully define the sketch> Model is attached.

Also, just to avoid confusion, the constraint color for sketch objects depends on what environment you are using.

Currently I assume you are using the infinity pools where sketch objects turn black.

I prefer the River Rubicon, where sketch objects turn white as can shown in the screenshot in my last post.

Tip: Drag geometry- what do you observe?

I observe white dots - points that are missing Coincident Constraints.

I observe extraneous lines...

I observe missing Vertical Constraint...

I observe missing Tangent Constraint (but why not sketch as one arc instead of two?).

Click - Drag - Observe is perhaps the most powerful tip in all of Fusion.
