Fusion asking for permission to "update or delete other applications" on Mac Ventura

When launching Fusion on my Mac running Ventura this morning, I was prompted to allow Fusion to "update or delete other applications" via the App Management panel in Privacy.

Is this expected behavior?

@matthewjschultz This is a macOS Ventura security feature and this is expected. What is displayed to you is coming from macOS and the verbiage could be misleading but that is how Apple does this.

Thank you. I'm aware it's a Ventura security feature, but I've never been prompted for it related to F360, so just validating. In a world where (third-party) code repos are being polluted with malware, it's always good practice to ask "obvious and dumb" questions. : )

I just got this message for the first time. I'm now in Sonoma.
...and so the answer is what? Should we give permission to Fusion?
I don't feel comfortable letting Fusion (or any other app) have permission to update or delete other apps, other than itself, or a specific set of apps. I cannot imagine any scenario where this would be a good practice. What am I missing?

@rodrigo.alvarez Apple tightens up security in each of the macOS as they move forward. Now you have better control to which apps you can and dont want to give access etc. As called out in the brave posts, yes Fusion will need access.

So, why would Fusion need to do this? What apps will it update or delete?
Am I giving Fusion permission to modify any app? Or, is this just so that it can update and delete itself?

I have 50+ apps and Fusion is the only one with this requirement. It's the only one listed in that App Management page. I'm concerned about a third party application having access to modify other applications. Seems like a "single point of failure" if there is some exploit affecting the app. Why is Fusion following some special update process the other apps don't need to follow?
