Pattern does not apply changes when modifying parameters

Greetings!

I have stumbled upon an issue when trying to create parametric models. Specifically, I have created a sketch that is controlled by parameters. One of the features of the sketch is that is has a circular pattern. I have create a parameter called "inner_hole_num" that is supposed to create x number of rectangles inside my sketch. When changing the parameters while in "sketch mode" the changes are applied perfectly. When I clicked "Finish sketch" and then extruded an area of that sketch and tried to modify the parameter mentioned above, even though when checking the sketch of the model, these changes seem to have been applied, the 3d model created did not have them. I am new to parametric design and I have no idea how to fix this.

Everything is created in one sketch and then I just select an area of that sketch that I want extruded.

My goal was to create a ring with its diameter, its thickness, the number of holes it has and the size of those holes easily modified.

Any ideas?

Hi,

Sketch only 1 profile and create e.g an extrusion/cut and pattern this feature.

I am assuming you mean to create a ring model first and then sketch on the surface of the ring and pattern this new sketch and then cut? I tried that and it had the same results are the method I am showing in my post. Maybe I am misunderstanding your suggestion. Thank you for the quick reply though.

No, never pattern sketch elements!

Pattern the extrusion/cut feature instead!

For extrusion, select e.g. 6 profiles from the sketch.
If the number in the sketch is increased, the extrusion does not know that profiles have been added, but you have to make the selection manually again.

Attach your file here and end all doubt.

Pattern Features (or Bodies or Faces) rather the sketch elements (in most cases, especially in this case).
