Using lines sort of works but you get the same problem with snap to grid, the minimum snap is 0.0625". I was just trying to edit the standard ASME title block and reused the space where the CODE attribute and tile are to show the material. I needed to move the text a bit and it snapped to a different vertical position. With snap turned off I was able to draw lines to create a snap point for a point to point move be it's a pretty painful experience. The drawing tools in the 2d workspace are very primitive. Pity the sketch solver from the design workspace wasn't used like most other solid modelers I've used.

@ClintBrown3D I ran into a couple of problems modifying a title block today.

First problem was moving text. There's an option to snap to grid, the grid is adaptive so gets finer as you zoom in but the snap does not. You can see below how fine the grid is but the minimum snap is about 4 of the larger squares.

Second problem I found was after editing the title block the scale changed to 4:1. This was caused because I'd created a detail view at 4:1, I had to create another detail view at 1:1 then re-edit the title block to get it back to 1:1, then delete the view.

My request is could we have an attribute for the folder as well? I find projects don't really work for me so use one project and multiple folders for jobs. If I used a project for each job I'd have hundreds of them and no way to manage and organise them, folders with subfolders work far better.

Thanks Mark

Hi @HughesTooling

Looks like 3 things in one post, let's try to unpack them:

#1 - Moving text in a title block, there is a Snap on the right-click called "Point", which you can use to line up text.

Admittedly, we do not (yet) have support for the same Snap point on Attributes. For now, I suggest that you place an attribute, and then use "Copy" to place the subsequent ones, once placed, you can edit the attribute to change it.

#2 - I think I'm understanding correctly that you want to reset the view scale in the title block, to achieve this, double-click the title block, then hit "Reset Properties", this will sort out the scale.

#3 -"Folder attribute:

I understand the "Folder attribute" request, but I'd like to dive a bit deeper and fully understand the use case

If you're up for it, here is a link to my calendar, please book a Zoom session with me (note times are in 24:00 format, so 03:00 is 3am, 15:00 is 3pm). If you have any trouble with the link, please try it in an incognito window.

I can also give you a sneak peek at some of the upcoming features that we have planned.

.

This sort of works but if the last view you created (in my case a detail view) you get the scale of the detail view. So it looks like I need to create a temporary detail view at 1:1, reset the properties then delete the temp view.

Thanks Mark
