Use Selection Set with Extrude

I am shocked that this is not a feature.

Expected, natural, INTUITIVE workflow:

Place something (like an SVG) in its own sketch (I often do this, with circles of text, exported from Adobe Illustrator as an SVG, with each character its own separate selectable item.)
Select sketch, right-click Create Selection Set
Exit sketch
Select Extrude
Use the Selection Set to apply to that Extrude window

I have seen, in the link shared, people recommending all sorts of alternative methods for making this happen.

I want to be able to apply a Selection Set to an action. It's a very basic operation: create selection set, USE selection set. Otherwise, selection sets are useless.

Is there a reason why this isn't a feature of Fusion 360?

I have an endless list of things (this isn't one of them, albeit being useful) that I could ask this question for.

At this point in time I would have to conclude that adding a lot of modeling tools (and , boy is there a lot to be added) doesn't seem to address the main target audience of paying Fusion 360 customers.

A well-designed program would accept a selection set as input for any appropriate selection field.
