Fit Point Spline issues

I want to trace the image, and when I start adding points, the lines all want to curve, like you see on the left side of the "V", and I get the red and green axis how do I turn that off, and make it follow where I put the points instead. seems something has changed since the latest update I got a couple days ago. I did a different one a while ago and could trace the letters just fine, and have just started this new project and have run into this problem. I went back and started a new project with the old image I used for the 1st project and it now does the same thing. Once in a while after I set all the points I would have to adjust a few, but the lines always followed as I had put them down.

when did they add the part showing by the E with the little check mark? and why do all the lines want to be curved, even if I draw a straight line and at each corner, I put a point, and the next point wants to be curved? It used to do that once in a while but if I added a point closer to the one before it would quit making them curved. why do they always want to snap to some invisible grid, when i want to place them right along the edge of each letter.

I hope that this is just a setting that was changed with the latest update, and can be fixed.

my version is :

Fusion 360 2.0.15509 x86_64

Hi,

You will get better results if you split the contours into segments consisting of spline and straight lines.
In the screencast I show how this can be done.

For this purpose, the following applies to splines: As many control points as necessary, but as few as possible.

OK I will go back and give that a try myself, it will take some time to learn this but I will keep at it

thank you, I have tried it and I did get it to work, and it is so much faster todo for each letter.
