Hi All,

Thanks for the replies.

There were unresolved issues, but sorting them out did not help.

The arrows point UP, on selecting the surface, so the negative value seemed correct. When I enter the -5mm value, the arrow direction changes direction as you can see on the video/screenshot. The extrude is correct up until the OK button is pressed and then it changes orientation.

However, I did keep looking and found THIN EXTRUDE, which was a way around the issue I have attached a video for any other newbs that get stuck!

Kind Regards,

Greg

Hi,

Unable to find this issue elsewhere...

When I extrude a body and select "join" the preview is correct. When I press OK, it extrudes in the opposite direction.

When I delete the other body, the extrude still resolves in the wrong direction.

Attached is the file and a video of the problem.

Regards,

Greg

In your example, the Extrude directional arrow is pointing toward the side you want, down, but you are entering a Extrude Distance Value of -.5mm so it will extrude in the opposite direction. If the arrow points in the direction you want, the Distance value will be positive not negative.
