No, not on Windows and not on my MacBook. It's not a 0.1 degree resolution, but there is no apparent snapping.

When using free move, the smallest rotation seems to be something like 5 degrees. I want to rotate in fractions of a degree.

When I use the rotate portion of the move tool, it wants me to select an axis and gives very strange results. Unclear how to make it rotate around object center like the free move tool.

How do I make this work intuitively?

I cannot help you with the snapping. It is unfortunately built in. I wish we could turn this off at least temporarily. When working in a sketch, for example, we can disable snapping by pressing and holding the CTRL/CMD keys.

The rotate tool also accepts circular edges for axis selection and then rotates the objects around the axis it infers from that selection. If that isn't what you are asking for, a screen recording would help explain the problem.

I just now noticed that if I click on the rotate portion of the move tool I can type in degrees. That is at least a workable workaround.

Turning off the snapping sounds like what I want. Holding ctrl/cmd (I'm on a Mac) doesn't seem to do anything, regardless if I hold before or after starting to rotate. Could you please describe in further detail how this is expected to work?

BTW I am working in a sketch.

<STRIKE>Hmmm... interesting. I was convinced to stop snapping in the sketch it was the CTRL key, but it is the ALT on the Windows computer iI am using right now. I will have to try later on my mac.</STRIKE>

<STRIKE>S</STRIKE>cratch that. When starting new sketch objects, snapping to existing sketch geometry or the sketch origin can be disabled by holding the CTRL/CMD key.

Rotating 3D objects also does not seem to snap.

But I believe that rotating a canvas still snaps.

I was trying to rotate a simple 2D sketch box. Does alt prevent snapping on that for you?
