I've modeled some wall panels, and imported a McMaster part that I'd like to attach to the panels as a mending plate.

However, when I try to create a simple joint, the mending plate appears to be in the wrong orientation with respect to the panel, and the only axis available to rotate it is Z. I cannot figure out how to change the axis so that I can rotate it about Y, or how to simply join the face of the plate to the face of the panel.

Hopefully the screenshot explains my dilemma.

I am aware that I could simply model the mending plate in the correct orientation to begin with. However, I am trying to understand how joints work (I'm a SW user), and this seems like it should be easy, but I am stumped.

Thanks for your reply Jeff.

However, I'm not trying to make a rotating joint. I want a rigid joint.

I just want the plate to rotate 90 degrees around the Y axis so that it sits flat against the panel. Then I want it to stay there. I'd like to move it a specific distance down from the top edge of the panel, which I don't think will be hard to do (haha everytime I say that Fusion proves me wrong, so I'll probably be back here posting about that if I ever figure out how to rotate this part).

Ah, OK, thanks. I would probably, then, use an explicit Joint Origin so that you can reorient the JO so that the Z axis is in the direction you need. There is no way that I am aware of to rotate a Rigid Joint around another axis

Thanks both @jeff_strater and @g-andresen for your help. I was able to create a joint origin that oriented to plate correctly. I had tried this before but had trouble selecting the new JO instead of the original component point (at least, I think that's what it was...). Thanks again!
