failed to initialize graphics backend for openGL error

Has anyone had this message when launching fusion 360 "failed to initialize graphics backend for openGL error"? I can't even open the program. I have been using it on my labtop for 4 years now with no problems. All of a sudden i can't get it to launch. I have tried changing graphics drivers, repairing and uninstalling and installing and still it gives me the same error.

This has come up a few times and updating graphics drivers seems to normally work but I see you've tried that. What OS are you using and what graphics card? Does the notebook have dual graphics cards, is Fusion using the correct one?

I have an HP Envy I7 Gen 8 and my graphics card is an Intel(R) UHD Graphics 620. I am running Windows 10. I have been using Fusion on this laptop for about 4 years, and i have never had this issue until yesterday.

I forgot to answer your other question. I am not sure if Fusion is running on the right card. I can't get it to open so i don't know how to check. I beleive i only have one card so that might be your answer.

Was there a windows update, Fusion's not had an update for a few weeks. You might need to roll back to an older driver or may be a newer one from the manufacturer if windows installed one of it's own.

If you right click Fusion's icon on the desktop do you have an option to pick the graphics processor?

Hey, thank you for your help. I did not those options when i right clicked on the app. I believe i did do a windows update lastnight. After tinkering around, i ended up disabling my "Intel" graphics card, and apparently there was another one "a microsoft one" on my computer. Fusion runs now, it's just kinda slow. For the moment i will deal with it being slow, i am trying to get a homework assignment done and don't want to lose it again.

After, i will continue to look for a better solution. Thank you again. 🙂
