Jeff,

Thats a good idea trying to extrude first. But i am still new to this so im still learning how to use Fusion 360 efficiently. im still finding out what order of operations works best. However, the unit of measurements is correct (inches). i will attach the sketch that i am working on

I imported a DXF file and I had to make some changes. I'm finally done with my sketch and all I have to do is scale it. Whenever I try to do so, the software freezes and I have to close out of my sketch. Ive tried a number of solutions ive read on the forums but no luck so far. Any help would be much appreciated.

an offhand guess here (all that we can offer without the design in question): That DXF that you imported probably has thousands or tens of thousands of entities. When you try to scale the whole thing, it WILL take a long time. It will appear to be hung, but likely it will just take a long time to complete. Hard to say how long, without knowing more about the DXF or the sketch itself.

But, one question is: why are you trying to scale the sketch? There may be more efficient ways to achieve your final desired result. Is it because the units are wrong? There are ways to handle that that don't involve scaling a huge sketch. Are you going to extrude this sketch? If so, scale the resulting solid instead (scale 1 object instead of thousands of them), etc.

thanks for the design. As I suspected, this is a pretty big sketch. You can see when you select the geometry in the Scale command that there are 1662 items. And, that will take a long time to scale. But, it will finish. On my 5-year-old Mac, it takes about 5 minutes to scale each time. Attached is a copy that I was able to scale to 2.0X.

Before:

Thanks Jeff that really helped out a lot! Another issue i'm having is once I create the tool path, not all the lines are being generated into the tool path. I've tried decreasing my lead in distance but it still wont get the small cuts. Any work arounds for this issue?
