Just to follow up on this for posterity, this turned out to be an account problem (related to going from free to paid, and something to do with the storage type) that required making a new account to fix. Lot of weird filetype related account issues I didn't want to find more of later, so I insisted on just making a new one.

I do not have an issue with the indicated file. Did you upload it to the cloud first, it is an assembly so Fusion 360 has to organize the components. What is your license type? You will get a lot better results if you do not "require" the Forum users to download the file, you should do that and attach it.

As I mentioned before, I have not issues with opening the Solidworks file or the Fusion 360 file you just attached. I would recommend looking into using the Repair Option in the Fusion 360 Service Utility.

I want to bring something to your attention. When responding to a post from someone, do not use the "Post Reply" icon as this will address your post to yourself. Instead use the "Reply" icon on the post you are responding to address your post to that person. Look back at the messages in this post and you will see what I mean.

Since I was sort of replying to both of you, I just hit reply. That's an odd way to thread a forum.

Well, that was a ride. I tried to use the utility to repair my installation, which had a file access error in the middle and failed. Afterwards F360 wouldn't start. Many DLL errors. Uninstalled and reinstalled, but still have the same problem. Any .sldprt files I open are unusable. Can see them but cannot manipulate them. If I try to do it too much, F360 crashes.

Cleared the cache on the fresh reinstall just to make sure, same problem. Also discovered going to any other tab (generative design, manufacturing, etc.) also causes F360 to crash with this open, even if I open it as the .f3d file I exported.

It had something to do with personal storage vs. the new team storage as switching to it allowed me to manipulate the files, but only in that workspace. Still couldn't load from my own PC. During the course of it, I realized I couldn't export correctly either, and just never knew. Just a lot of weird stuff. Account is borked somehow. Wanted to start from scratch, and it appears to have worked. No issues on new account so far.
