I need to trace around of the edge of some silhouettes, if I use the normal lines and arcs I geta workable sketch. However I can make a much better job of the trace if I use splines. The problem is the resulting sketch is unworkable, (I think it is too complx, 1000+ points, makes fusion lock up)

Is there a way to convert the complex spline sketch into a normal outline.

Could you use Inkscape to trace for you? Also do you really need 1000 points, what are you trying to trace?

Hi,

The golden rule for the number of control points is: "Less is more".

Please share the file

File > export > save as f3d on local drive > attach to post

Never heard of inkscape, I'm wondering if it would be helpfull in what I am trying to do.

Need to get an outline of an image into fusion so as I can create a DXF file. They're time consuming the way I am doing them. So as an example. this image

https://pixabay.com/illustrations/swallows-bird-silhouette-swallow-3608071/

to this fusion drawing

attached f3d file

(obviously I have achieved this with the help of John's suggestion above)
