Fusion Unresponsive after DXF Import

Hey everyone,

I purchased some CNC template files to cut out some parts. I got them in the form of DXF files that I'm 95% sure were built using Fusion 360. However, whenever I import a single DXF file, fusion just tanks and won't do anything. I looked through the help documentation with no resolution, and other times, I've seen this come up with complex sketches. However, the current ones I'm working with are simple.

I'm running with 16GB of ram, and Fusion only showed it was consuming around 3GB of it, yet it was still unresponsive. I'm stuck because I can't do anything. I even tried importing the DXF, projecting the lines to a new sketch, then breaking the link and deleting the original sketch layer from the DXF, but it still is extremely slow.

Any help would be appreciated. I've attached an example file with one of the sketches. I'm trying to lay this out in my 48" x 48" space, along with a few other parts to cut on the CNC.

I assume you want to Extrude the sketch that you attached. It extrudes with out issue very easily. I am not sure what you see as an issue. Maybe you need to attach one of the DXF files so the Forum users can take a look at it. Otherwise, I do not see an issues with this file.

Hey! So extruding is fine. However, when I try to move the sketch or do anything like a rectangular pattern to create more parts, that's when it starts having issues. I attached one of the DXF files here.

I'm trying to arrange this part along with a few others multiple times within my 48" x 48" to cut them all out. But attempting to move any sketch is nearly impossible.

Nothing like defining your question the first time. Anyway, I see no issues with importing or placing the DXF in your design space. As you can see from silent video, I have no issues unless again, I am not performing the operation you see problems with.

Sorry about that. I guess I thought anything I tried doing was making Fusion unresponsive, but I didn't elaborate more on what I was trying to do. I'm not able to move things as easily as your video shows. Once I click and drag, nothing happens for like 30 seconds or more, then it jumps to where I roughly moved it. I'm unsure if there is anything I can do on my settings within Fusion to help or if it's just my machine. As I mentioned, I'm running 16GB of DDR3 ram, and Fusion is only consuming a couple of GBs.

Have you restarted Fusion 360 lately. I know individuals that run Fusion 360 non-stop for days, maybe restarting once in a while is good. You could also try using the Fusion 360 Service Utility and use the Reset or Repair Option. Use it with caution and correctly or it may cause you to reinstall the application.

I did restart and had an update today as well. I was hoping that would help, but it didn't. I'll give the service utility a shot though!
