Move timeline item in one component relative to a different component

I create sketch A in component A, then sketch B in component B. I now want to project part of sketch B onto sketch A, so I want to move the sketch B prior to sketch A. But the component A timeline shows only sketch A, and the component B timeline shows only sketch B. Is there a way to rearrange the timeline in one component relative to the timeline in another component? Is there a global timelime somewhere?

I'm not 100% sure, but, based on this: " But the component A timeline shows only sketch A, and the component B timeline shows only sketch B.", you may want to disable this option from the gear icon at the end of the timeline. This option hides features that are not owned by the active component:

regarding this: " Is there a way to rearrange the timeline in one component relative to the timeline in another component?", the answer is "yes, but it depends". If you want to reorder sketch B to be before sketch A, try dragging the icon for sketch A in the timeline. As long as it has no dependencies, you can drag it wherever you want. But, if, for instance, sketch B was created on the face of a solid created by, say, an extrude, you will not be able to reorder it before that extrude (for what I hope are obvious reasons).

Jeff - That's the ticket! I can reveal the global timeline (didn't know you could) and then click and drag items within the components. I discovered I can also turn on component color swathes to help identify which component a given step belongs to, when viewing the global timeline . Fer sure, I can't violate any dependencies, as you pointed out.
