Hi guys

I have a file of some aluminum extrusion. I am trying to join the faces all the way around into one face. This is so I can press pull it 0.5mm bigger to make a slightly larger cut out for my model. Resulting in a print that will be able to have the extrusions slide into

Hope that makes sense ive attatched a pic

Thanks, Josh

You want to use Surfaces for this operation. The video will explain how. You did not attach your model so I used a short section of 40 x 40 aluminum extrusion I had. I am attaching the model I used, both pieces are components and they are grounded in place to show you the 0.5mm enlargement.

Edit: If you just want to create a cutout, you can stop at the expanded surface operation and use it to cut your hole.

<video-js data-video-id="6333719340112" data-account="6057940548001" data-player="default" data-embed="default" class="vjs-fluid" controls="" data-application-id="" style="width: 100%; height: 100%;"></video-js>
(view in My Videos)
