Prevent splines from skewing when moved

I build guitar bodies. My sketches are normally abstract and so largely unconstrained (which is fine for my purpose). However, I am having issues with splines contorting when I move the image; or copy/paste (to another sketch or another new design). I've tried fix/locking (which won't allow me to move the sketch); i've tried using construction lines with constrains (which hasn't worked).

How can I "lock" my splines so that they don't contort when I move them?? (see attached---SPline problem 1 is how it should appear; problem 2 is how it looks when I move it).

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?
