Error messages with Lofting.

I created 2 sketches from 2 canvases (F1 and F4) that I imported on 2 different construction planes. I then connected the 2 sketches with 2 rails. The rails follow the outline of canvas Fuse Side. Then I loft the sketches and select the 2 rails I get the "Modeling Error: Rail(s) cannot be tangent to profiles!".

I have made similar loft's in the past but I found that this error started to appear since the last update.

Can someone please tell me how to fix this problem.

Thanks for sharing the model, @hdeubler . I agree this looks strange. I thought it was the curvature of the top profile:

but, even calming that down a bit does not help. I'll have the modeling kernel team look into it...

First thing I notice is white dots (missing Coincident connections - these are absolutely critical). White dots should keep you awake at night.

Then I notice that splines appear to be mirrored rather than tangent continuous. (Common mistake.)

And finally, I notice that (missing) dimensions cannot be measured in the real world (unconstrained sketches).

So I take care of those issues.

I would probably do this all a bit differently - but just following your lead...

BTW - haphazard sketching like this has always been unpredictable (or predictably bad).

White dots = no connections...

Fix the white dots (missing connections) and it will Loft.

But rather than 2 curves - when you want a closed curve it is best to make the beginning and endpoint the same for 1 curve.

As a beginner this would be an extremely ambitious project.

You should work your way up from simple projects

to intermediate projects like this

In this image, the white dots? Surely they should be in the exact same position, because the blue "closed" indicator is happening? If the loop isn't closed, it shouldn't be blue.

Is here a quick way to find which of the myriad points are actually 0.0000001mm away from each other?

You are absolutely right, I am struggling with Lofting. Unfortunately, I use F360 mostly for designing RC Planes, so lofting is necessary for both the fuselage and the wings. Designing a part where there are 2 or more sketches on the y axis and rails are on the z and x axis. Or maybe I am going about this totally wrong. I usually end up with what I want to design but it often takes server hours and is very frustrating.

White dots and blue sketch articles, are going to add to the frustration.

Loft is finicky, and you must follow the rules.

Your canvases are misaligned and out of scale relative to each other,

In CAD we build from the outside > in, and the workshop, Inside > Out.

So longerons for profiles, and bulkheads for rails,

Sneak up on the cockpit area.

Maybe they are in the exact same position.

That is not enough.

They must also have a Coincident Constraint to each other.

Try dragging white dots - what do you observe?

Do they move together or can they be separated as I demonstrated in my image?
