Hi

Very new to Fusion 360 (non commercial version)

I've trying to replicate a brick wall I've built, but simple tasks like copy and pasting are driving me nuts!

I have a short row of bricks that Ive joined (but instead of being one item they're still individual items - connected). Can they be one piece?

Anyway before I move on I wanted to copy and paste what I have and expand my wall. However when I manage to copy the selected items when pasted they scatter all over the page!! On one occasion I did manage to get a little closer to what I wanted but only parts copied and not the whole thing even though the whole thing was highlighted. Ideally what I would like is to copy the whole thing and have it re-pasted exactly.

I've tried a google searched and watched a few videos but the results are just not exactly what I'm looking for. Maybe I'm using the wrong Fusion360 terminology ?

Any advise welcomed

You are working with linked components.

How are you needing the wall, stacked or staggered, 6 blocks wide? by how high. (No half mortar yet)

What is the output from this file going to be?

If it were me, I would import one block, break the link, and pattern them.

I would make the mortar as one item and Combine > cut the pattern of blocks out of it

(Bonus fills the cavities in one go. But I don't know your output requirements.)

Might help....

Hi Dave

Sorry for the late reply. Apart from having to google such things as Patterning

Made things a bit easier on myself and created the block as one body and the mortar as another body in one component, and importing

different variations of the block as needed.

I'll build two layers of my (Staggered wall (L shape)) and then copy and paste as a repeated pattern

Thanks for your assistance.

Tap.
